Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 amβ12 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.
Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 161 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded auto repair shops in Houston.
Houston is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Houston follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I was referred to Rays by a friend. They have fair, reasonable pricing, and do a great job! -I would recommend them to even my friends. My FiancΓ©e now uses Rayβs as do my roommates. She has had brakes replaced there, oil changes, a transmission cooler. One of my roommates had an electrical issue on their Mustang where the radio would stay on and drain the battery. It is a common issue on Mustangs where the drain gets clogged and water pools on the main electrical box. Most places would charge you over a thousand dollars to replace the box. Rayβs has the knowledge to fix just the problem, and not throw expensive parts at it. My other roommate thought his heater core was leaking onto the carpet of his car. Rayβs properly diagnosed it as a clogged drain on his sunroof that was leaking onto his floor and fixed it at minimum cost. They have done a great job changing my oil, replacing my transmission lines. My front struts started bouncing and they replaced with KYB(Japanese made) struts and the car rides soo smooth now. If I have ever had an issue they have taken care of it promptly and with care. I had torn lower control arms they replaced without issue. -They stand behind their work:

I'm new to the area and I needed my car fixed. My Air conditioner stopped working and living here in Houston, you NEED Air conditioning!! My vanity mirror lights stopped working and my license plate light was very dim. Ruben called me and kept me informed of everything as the guys were working on my car. He even sent me pictures so I can see the damage and I can decide if I wanted to fix the problem or not. I appreciate the efforts and they charged me a fair price because locating and diagnosing the problem can take some time. I'm happy I chose them to work on my car. Thanks guys! I do recommend these guys for fixing your car π π

I went this morning to this location Feb 24, 2025 for all the lights brake sensors came out on my Honda civic 2022. I explained to the front desk Hispanic gentleman that a previous mechanic check my brakes, caliper motors, rankin pinion, alternator and I had new battery and only I did was changed the pads and rotate the tires and he said to me for diagnostic itβs $120 USD an hour because take time to his coworkers. Is sad to see how we the consumers βwomenβ they trying to rip you off with high prices taking advantage of you lake of knowledge. I went to other shop and they found my car needs calibration on my tires because were rotated. I will not recommended it with this rising prices

I took my 76 Eldorado to these guys with multiple electrical problems. When I called the first time and asked for Chris he said he was backed up about 3 weeks. I waited and called back and he got me in. It was WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!! These guys fixed EVERYTHING that I requested in a very timely manner and their work and attention to detail was AMAZING. Chris is hands down my new best friend.
